explore oman From a
different angle
turtle watching
Oman is one of the very few destination in the world where you can swim with turtles, and watch turtles in their natural habitat. Every year, around 20,000 turtles of mainly five species migrates to shores on Oman to lay their eggs. At night carrying their heavy shells on their backs these turtles drag themselves out of the water to the beach. Strenuously and with great difficulty, they dig a hole in the sand using the tips of their paws so as to bury their eggs and then return to the sea. After about 55 days, the eggs hatch and baby turtles come out to start the most dangerous journey of their lives, trying to avoid hungry foxes, crabs and birds and pushing their way towards the sea where they can find safety in the waters. And you can witness those all.
Snorkeling and Diving
Coastal front of Oman is actually quite interesting. From top of Arabian peninsula, you will Oman is surrounded by Gulf of Oman, whereas down south (from Sur onwords) it is surrounded by Arabian sea. Gulf of Oman and Arabian sea are two very distinct in nature. Gulf of Oman gives you this calm relaxing vibe whereas Arabian sea gives you this wild feeling of Ocean. Gulf of Oman, due to its nature offers plenty of opportunities to explore underwater world. Even if you are not avid diver, it is definitely recommended to atleast experience this underwater world, by snorkeling or diving. There are very few places in the world where you can experience swimming with turtles. Oman is one of such.

Oman is really a very well hidden travel destination, where you can also explore things which are truly hidden such as caves. Very few people know that Oman is home to the second largest cave chamber in the world (Majlis Al Jinn on the Salmah Plateau) and numerous others. The Sultanate has plenty of caves to explore.
swimming with whale sharks
Whale sharks are one of the most awe-inspiring sights in the ocean, and the conditions around the coast of Oman make it the perfect place to see them. Whale shark or say gentle giants of the sea and their pups migrate south to the warmer waters of the southern hemisphere. This is where they cross Oman from September to November and makes perfect time to enjoy swimming with them.
canyoning
Many people think of this region, they think of dry, desert environment. Little though they know that even if natural rain fall is very minimal, still mother nature managed to provide with constant source of water. Much of these water streams are found in wadis (dry river bed) in Oman. Some of these wadis have water all around the year. Some are easily accessible by road, and some warrants for great courage and adventure spirit. If you want to experience thrilling adventure of exploring wadis by rappelling down the ropes, swimming across water pools, then canyoning in Oman is something you should definitely try. Word of caution though, you cannot do this by your own (unless you are professional and have knowledge of wadi and all required gears) thus better to join expeditions organised by many adventure lover organisations in Oman.
